Lucrezia felt even more helpless than before, now that her hands were bound to the bedpost. She couldn't clasp them, fidget, or hold herself. All her focus was on Ivar as he came toward her.
It had been a mistake, letting it show that she cared for the other women. Without thinking she had given him another weapon to wield against her. Stupid...she had been so very stupid...
"I do not know," she said, still managing to keep her head up. It was a bold answer, yet true. Lucrezia didn't know how she would react if... when...he decided to start. "Do you plan on harming me, Ivar?"
She searched his bloodied face. Her own eyes were blue as well, though a lighter shade. Friendlier. They were the shade of clear skies and calm water. His were harder and deeper and held no kindness that she could see.
Still, she had to try.
"Must this happen now? Could we not talk first?" Perhaps help would come if she could stall long enough. "We are very different, you and I. Are you not curious about me?" Or perhaps she could shift his perception of her...from victim to something close to friendship. "I can think of three dozen questions to ask you, already."
